John Bunch has been through the jazz wars: in the mid-fifties and sixties with the bands of Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and Benny Goodman. Some memorable record dates with Rex Stewart and Dicky Wells, with Al Cohn and Zoot Sims. As pianist and musical director for Tony Bennett. Yet despite all this experience, this is John's first jazz record under his own name, another example of how long it takes the jazz community to appreciate the fine craftsmen residing among them....
