Temple of Becoming (T.O.B.) is a unique studio, as it offers an eclectic "artist's" vibe, as well as providing very professional and high quality sound production. SAGE, the Engineer, is also a recording artist himself. The equipment list is not large, but every piece of gear is "top notch" and specialized. For larger live tracking projects where more extensive equipment is needed, additional top notch gear can be rented for minimal cost (see "Rental Gear Available" below). T.O.B. provides "Big Studio" sound for a project studio rate, and many clients boast about getting $100-$150 per hour studio results for roughly a 3rd of that cost! Our studio produces all styles, but truly specializes in Hip Hop, Rap, R & B, and Alternative Rock. T.O.B. is not a "commercial" studio with the aim of making the most money; artists are treated with special care and attention. We provide full professional level tracking, mixing, and mastering services.

Location

The studio is housed in a large 2800 sq. ft. former retail/warehouse space that was built in 1895, located in historical Central City. The atmosphere is rustic and "eclectic", to say the least -- very "non-sterile"!

Room Dimensions and Sound

There are 4 total rooms, all with VERY DIFFERENT acoustical properties. The large downstairs chamber is 16 ft. wide x 120 ft. long x 18 ft. tall -- very "gothic" and cathedral like, with a very resonant and "lush" natural reverb. The main tracking room upstairs is 16 ft. wide x 60 ft. long x 12 ft. tall, with very thick wood ceilings and floors. Movable partitions are used to contour the room sound by altering its dimensions. The control room is 12 ft. wide x 15 ft. long x 12 ft. tall, contoured to professional specifications. And the last room is 15 ft. wide x 19 ft. long x 12 ft. tall -- a great room for a BIG, TIGHT drum sound or for Grand Piano. In famous producer Daniel Lanois' fashion, movable partitions are used to create custom vocal ISO booths.
